One day when I’m drunk I’m going to ask you a really awful question.
It will be deep and meaningless.
You’ll high-pitch and give me a fake hug,
And you’ll continue to smile.
(It will be meaningless.)

One day when I’m drunk I’m going to ask you a really awful question;
It’ll confuse you, secretly
Will ring in your ears later that night,
Or another.
It’ll be written across my face
In UV pen
And capital letters
When you see me again.

One day when you’re drunk I’m going to ask you a really awful question,
The answer to which you won’t remember,
The answer to which is untrue.
You’ll throw it up or sweat it out
Dissolve in crispy clean night air
But it will hang hungover still
Over your morning shoulder.
